You've Got Ham!!!

Easter Sunday is just 2 weeks away and we all know what that means! Baked ham, fresh bread, mashed potatoes, the works..oh and don't forget the desserts!!! Just curious as to what some of you do for Easter Sunday in the way of a meal. Do you cook, go to a resturant, go to Moms? We usually go to my mother-in-laws since my Mom has passed on. But this year, once again I'm cooking and your all invited..:) My daughter is leaving for her Senior trip the day after Easter so I'm giving her a wonderful s… Continue

Same Nagging Question!!

Good Morning All,
Here it is 12:30 in the morning and I can't sleep so I'm blogging. Who would have thought? Not I! Since I finally have the time I was looking over the site and was reading Brett's article about 'A Diamond in the Rough' and I have the same question. Why does the warm rolls always get the cold shoulder from the butter? The label should say along with Rich and Creamy...Cold, Hard and Unspreadable, but real Buttery Taste! I realize that the butter can't sit out all day long or it w… Continue

Hey Kris! How's it going? You can really post some of your famous dishes like beef stronanoff, fried chicken, chicken rice, desserts galore - oh my god the desserts, girl. Get some of that up here so I can get to cooking. Love you all!

Kris - Wow, I remember that receipe, as I have tried to make it myself as you may recall with the late-night phone call for help! Just copy the recipe below, and paste it into your blog. On your member page you go to blog, then add a new post, then paste it in and hit save/publish. You may have to chose for it to be posted to main, yes, post it to the main page for sure. You're getting it. What's confusing is that I don't see where Stacey engaged you, I looked both on her page and your page and in the forum and blogs, she may have sent you an email which you could have just replied to, but then we'd all miss out on the fun recipe share, so keep it public when you can. :-)

Stacey..I'm not sure what the exact secret is to the perfect roll I think it is hit or miss, depending on the weather, the temp in your kitchen, how much you handle the dough, how fresh the yeast is, such as that. I have had good turnouts and ones we don't want to talk about :) So, here is my recipe, it involves a little time, but it is worth the effort and best of luck to you!

Easy Sweet Rolls

2 pkgs yeast
1-1/4 C warm water
3 eggs
5 C all purpose flour
1-1/2 sticks of BUTTER, melted and cooled
2 tsp salt
2/3 C sugar
Oil
Muffin Pans

-Sprinkle yeast into 1/4 cup warm water, put aside and let set for 10 min.
-In a large bowl beat eggs until well blended then add yeast mixture into bowl
-Add 2-1/2 cups of the flour, alternating with the remaining 1 cups of water
-Add 1/2 cup of the butter, salt and sugar, mix until smooth
-Add remaining 2-1/2 cups of flour, mix until blended
-Put in a lightly greased bowl, large enough for it to rise to double in size
-Cover and let rise in a warm place
-When double in size, punch down and divide dough in half
-Roll each piece into a rectangle 8 x15 in.
-Melt remaining melted butter, 4 Tblsp, and pour over dough
-Sprinkle lightly with sugar over each piece (optional)
-Roll dough up like a jelly roll and use a serrated knife and cut into 1 in. slices
(makes about 12 per roll)
-After slicing put 1 slice in each muffin slot and let rise again until double
-Bake for 8 to 10 min in a 400 degree oven
-Brush melted butter on top when done

ENJOY....KRIS

Guys - I sware by this stuff. It's a client of ours at the office. Everyone that I know (personally) that has ordered it has remained a long-time customer. Sheila's father has ordered multiple times because it helped tremendously with joint pain relief. It's quality stuff if you want a topical pain relief cream. It is new to the market and can only be ordered online right now, this link will take you to the ordering site.
